Effective Search Engine Optimization is the goal for most web sites, particularly ones that rely on traffic for revenue. Whenever you search for something online, whatever it might be, using whichever search engine you like, be it Yahoo, Google or MSN, for instance, you'll find sites listed in order. The sites listed at the top didn't get there by accident. Guaranteed they have been optimized.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the art of driving traffic to a website by maximizing its effectiveness. This is done in a number of ways. The Search Engines want to satisfy their customers, so they seek the most popular, most attractive, most informative and entertaining sites based on any search topic. Search Engine Optimization is a result of excellent content, excellent layout and design, and targeted traffic marketing and management.

There are a number of ways to improve traffic volume on a web site, these ways are all SEO tools. At CreativeWorks we use all these tools, from simple keyword insertion, managing spider attracting keyword proximity and density, to complete design, well coded easy to navigate, fast sites rank higher than more confusing slow sites, to graphic design that is easy on the eye. There are many theories on how to improve SEO on a site, but we focus on real results. Before we confuse customers with terms like metatags and cross links and Iframe and so on, we ask their intentions for traffic. A key question for someone who might want to optimize their site is for what purpose, and what market are they seeking. Would they like to focus on conquering one search engine, for instance, versus the more complex task of maximizing SEO on all search engines. For instance, there are techniques that can be used, keyword insertion, that can run you up the list on MSN or Yahoo quickly, whereas Google ranks on a longer term based search checklist. They want well maintained well designed sites with content that changes periodically, no tricks or you get sandboxed (pushed down the list for a lengthy period of time like a time out).

Some things are common for all search engines. They all use keywords, they all like links and so on, but just like individual people and individual websites, search engines have their own personalities too. When it comes to SEO it takes years of training and experience to perfect the art. It's always better to seek the help of an expert or firm. There might be alternatives that appear cheap, like doing it yourself or finding an inexperienced firm, but wasting your money and time to get no results isn't saving you a penny. SEO isn't accidental, it's always by design!
